René Marion, P. Eng., Chairman of the Board


Mr. Marion brings over 30 years of industry experience to Richmont’s Board, including as past President and CEO of AuRico Gold from 2007 through 2012, and in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility at Barrick Gold Inc. from 1995 through 2007. Mr. Marion is currently the President and Chairman of RJLM Professional Services Ltd, a private consulting firm in the mining industry, and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, and the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers. Mr. Marion also serves on the Board of Directors of the public companies Guyana Goldfields Inc. and Continental Gold Inc.

Mr. Marion joined the Board of Richmont Mines in November 2013 and was appointed Chairman on January 1, 2016. Mr. Marion is also Chairman of the Chairman of the Technical and Corporate Responsibility Committee.

Renaud Adams, P. Eng., Director, President and CEO


Mr. Adams has 20 years of mining experience, and served as President and Chief Operating Officer at Primero Mining Corp. Prior to this, Mr. Adams served as Senior Vice-President, Americas Operations, at IAMGOLD Corporation, and held various senior positions with Cambior Inc. and Breakwater Resources Ltd. Mr. Adams holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mining and Mineral Processing from Laval University.

Mr. Adams has been a Director of Richmont Mines since November 2014.

Elaine Ellingham, P. Geo., M. Sc., MBA, Director


Ms. Ellingham is a professional geoscientist with over 25 years of experience in the mining industry. Ms. Ellingham is President of Ellingham Consulting Ltd., a company providing geological and advisory services to international clients. She spent eight years with the Toronto Stock Exchange, from 1997 - 2005, in a number of capacities including National Leader of Mining, and served on the TSX Stock List Committee. Ms. Ellingham was Senior VP, Investor Relations for IAMGOLD Corporation and has a range of experience in mineral exploration, corporate development and investor relations for mining companies including Campbell Resources Inc., Rio Algom Exploration Inc., and St. Joe Canada Inc. Ms. Ellingham is currently a director of Wallbridge Mining Company Limited, Aurania Resources Ltd., and Williams Creek Gold Limited.

Ms. Ellingham has been a Director of Richmont Mines since February 2010, and is Chairwoman of the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.

Michael Pesner, CA, Director


Mr. Pesner is President of Hermitage Canada Finance Inc., a company that specializes in financial advisory and merger and acquisition services. Previously, Mr. Pesner was a Senior Partner in Financial Advisory Services at the Montreal offices of KPMG, prior to which he was National Executive, Corporate Recovery Partner at KPMG predecessor firm Thorne Ernst & Whinney. Mr. Pesner also serves on the Board of Directors of the public companies Quest Rare Minerals Ltd. Inc., Alexandria Minerals Corporation, Canamax Resources Corporation, Wi2Wi Corporation, Nutritional High International Inc., and Le Chateau Inc.

Mr. Pesner has been a Director of Richmont Mines since November 2010, and is Chairman of the Audit Committee.

Peter Barnes, CA, Director


Mr. Barnes is a professional Director with over twenty-five years of senior management experience and has been instrumental in building two of the world’s premier precious metals companies. From 2003, until his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of Silver Wheaton in 2006, Mr. Barnes was the Chief Financial Officer of Wheaton River Minerals, and subsequently Goldcorp Inc., after the companies merged in 2005. During this time, Mr. Barnes was an integral part of a team responsible for one of the most exciting growth phases in the company’s history, when Wheaton River/Goldcorp’s market capitalization increased more than 25-fold to CAN$13 billion and the company was transformed from a junior gold producer to one of the world’s leading low-cost senior gold producers. From 2006 until 2011, Mr. Barnes was CEO of Silver Wheaton, a company he co-founded in 2004. Under his leadership, Silver Wheaton, with its unique silver streaming model, provided shareholders with a 50% annualized rate of return and grew into one of the largest silver companies in the world, with a market capitalization of approximately US$15 billion.

Mr. Barnes has been a Director of Richmont Mines since February 2016, and is Chairman of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee.
